Black Diamond, by Martin Walker. Pub 2012

The third book in the series picks up where The Dark Vineyard left off. Bruno becomes embroiled in both an Asian gang war and a fraudulent truffle market. The histories are complex and difficult to follow; while it was interesting to learn about the background between France and Vietnam, it got convoluted with references to Algeria and so it became hard to keep track of what influences were most significant. Regardless, Bruno and his community were delightful and colourful, and I look forward to their next adventure.

Fate: already delivered to fellow Bruno fan.

1 – a murder
13 – somewhere I’ve never been
24 – food
36 – part of a series
