This is the second in the Bruno series, and just as enjoyable as the first. Bruno and his neighbours are thrust into the turmoil of the wine world and GMOs, with some ancient family feud for good measure. While the wine industry and wine more generally are main characters here, the novel doesn’t lose sight of the terroir and the denizens of Saint-Denis as the true focus.
A worthwhile follow-up to the first book, and certainly an incentive to move on to the third book soon.
I’m counting this as my “food” book, given the prominence of wine and food in the story, as well as the imprimatur of the World Cookbook Award for 2010 for best wine novel (a small category, I’m sure).
Fate: passing along to another mystery lover
1 – a murder
13 – never been
24 – food (despite its murder mystery genre, It won the 2010 World Cookbook aware for best wine novel…)
